Dawkins appears to have gone from atheist to AI-theist: perhaps he doesn’t view AI as God, but he certainly seems to see it as God-like
Are you there God? It’s me, Arwa. I’ll be quite honest, I’m afraid I’ve never been a believer. I agreed wholeheartedly with Richard Dawkins, the world’s most famous atheist, when he argued that belief in God is a “pernicious” delusion. But perhaps I should reconsider my position. Recent events have led me to question Dawkins’ judgment about life, the universe and everything.
Those recent events are the evolutionary biologist publicly concluding that AI may be conscious. In an op-ed, Dawkins recounted how he gave the Anthropic chatbot Claude the text of a novel he was writing. Dawkins writes: “He took a few seconds to read it and then showed … a level of understanding so subtle, so sensitive, so intelligent that I was moved to expostulate, ‘You may not know you are conscious, but you bloody well are!’”

Notion is expanding its collaborative workspace software with a developer platform for building AI-enabled workflows around enterprise data and workspace content.
The Notion Developer Platform adds custom code execution, database sync, external agent support, and workflow triggers, allowing developers and coding agents to extend Notion beyond its traditional role as a workspace app, the company said in a statement.
The launch comes as enterprises experiment with agentic AI but still struggle to give those systems access to the work context that is spread across business applications and internal systems. Notion is betting that developers will want to connect that scattered context to the workspace where teams already do much of their day-to-day work.

As digital tools become more central to its operations, Southwest Airlines is increasingly turning to AI and automation to prevent endpoint issues from affecting the sprawling airline.
The new tools allow the company’s IT team to take a more strategic, rather than reactive, approach to operations, said Derek Whisenhunt, head of end user computing at Southwest Airlines.
“Bottom line is we now focus our team’s time on proactive and preventative work and increasing the digital employee experience and not waiting for issues to arise before focusing on them,” said Whisenhunt.
Southwest has been steadily digitizing frontline workflows for the past decade, replacing paper-based operational processes with mobile devices and cloud applications for its maintenance, flight operations, and gate services workers — and even cabin crews.
