The contenders include four sides that have won the World Cup: Defending champion Argentina (1978, 1986, 2022), France (1998, 2018), which lost to the South Americans in the final in Qatar four years ago, Spain (2010) and England (1996). They all happen to be the top four teams in the latest FIFA rankings. The other four teams: Morocco, which finished fourth in 2022; Belgium, which bested the U.S. in the Round of 16; Norway, playing in its first World Cup since 1998; an
